About

Karen is a self-taught professional Coloured Pencil (CP) Artist painting mostly wildlife subjects, some with a “twist”!

She is a Gold Signature member of the United Kingdom Coloured Pencil Society and demonstrates and runs workshops for the society.

She exhibits nationally and has won awards for her CP work, including “Best Picture by a Test Valley Artist" at the Best of Hampshire Artists Exhibition at Hillier Gardens  2011 and "Best Fantasy Picture" at the UK CPS International Annual Exhibition 2014.

Furthermore, she has had her work featured in several publications, including The Encyclopedia of Coloured Pencil Techniques published by Search Press.

Karen gained her PTLLs level 4 qualification and now runs CP workshops at many venues and for local art groups across the South, including Hillier Gardens.

She has for many years run CP workshops at The Cumberland Pencil Museum, Keswick and in the past been a demonstrating artist for both Derwent and the UK Coloured Pencil Society. 

She delivers courses for Nature in Art, Twigworth, Gloucester, where she is “artist in residence” each year.

Karen Coulson UKCPS

Now lives in Hampshire, UK with Karen and their two cats.

Mark attended the Wildlife Illustration Course, Dyfed College of Art, from 1979 to 1982.

In 1988, he gained a Certificate of Qualification in Social Work at Plymouth University, Plymouth. Mark subsequently worked for many years as a full-time social worker for adults, whilst exhibiting his artwork intermittently.

In 2000, he took part in the inaugural exhibition of British and African Wildlife Art at the Triton Gallery in Exeter, Devon.

2001 Mark held a solo exhibition at the prestigious St Mellion Golf and Country Club in Cornwall.

In 2007, he took part in the Elford Fine Art 'Autumn' and 'Christmas' exhibitions in Exeter and Tavistock.

Mark takes part in the annual 'Our World Imagined Exhibition' held at Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, Romsey, Hampshire

Over the years, Mark has undertaken and completed numerous commissions both in Europe and USA
